Perhaps the highlight of the night was Ubisoft’s announcement of their new IP named Watch Dogs. The game’s premise is that you are playing the man named Aiden Pierce, who has control over computers that control the whole entire city.
The game’s setting is a fictionalized Chicago, and you have the ability to jam radars, intercept transmissions and phone calls, and scan people to learn all about them. Above is a gameplay demo of the game, which was shown during the end of Ubisoft’s E3 2012 presentation.
Jonathan Morin, creative director of the game, commented on the concept of Watch Dogs, saying
“Watch Dogs goes beyond the limits of today’s open-world games by giving players the ability to control an entire city. In Watch Dogs, anything connected to the city’s Central Operating System becomes a weapon. By pushing the boundaries, we can provide players with action and access to information on a scale that’s never been seen in a video game before.”
Watch Dogs will release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, but no release date is set. What do you think about this new IP from Ubisoft?
